When a Resplendent Quetzal Chooses a Family Backyard

Equally important has been the protection of nesting cavities from natural predators and disturbances that could threaten breeding success.

Today, visitors can observe and photograph Quetzals from responsible viewing areas while the birds continue their natural behavior largely undisturbed.

The result is a rare example of long-term coexistence between people and wildlife.
