Owl & Night Birding Tour

Your tour guide:
My name is Gerson. I am a naturalist guide, born in the Caribbean of Costa Rica and now residing in Puerto Jiménez. I visited the Osa Peninsula a long time ago, and I simply fell in love with the place. Since then, I have tried to do the things that fill me as a person: love nature and share it, learn from it, and grow.
About this tour
Join us for a unique nocturnal birding experience in the Osa Peninsula, where low light pollution creates excellent opportunities to observe owls and other nocturnal birds in their natural environment. During this experience, we will explore quiet roads and forest edges near open pastures and agricultural areas, carefully searching for owls perched at eye level, fence posts, or exposed branches. These transition zones often provide ideal conditions for spotting some of the region’s most fascinating nocturnal raptors. Beyond the excitement of finding owls, this activity offers a chance to discover the diversity of the night and better understand the important role these majestic birds play in the ecosystem. This short evening adventure is perfect for birders, photographers, and nature enthusiasts interested in experiencing a different side of the Osa Peninsula.
