Your tour guide:
**The Divine Dolphin** has specialized exclusively in dolphin and whale watching tours in Drake Bay, Costa Rica, since 1998. With nearly three decades of experience exploring the rich waters of the Osa Peninsula, dolphin and whale encounters are not just one of the tours we offer — they are our specialty and the only tour we do. Our experienced team, including marine biologist guides, provides respectful, educational encounters with wild dolphins, Humpback Whales, and other marine life while sharing our passion for research, conservation, and protecting this extraordinary marine ecosystem.
About this tour
**Dolphin & Whale Watching Tour – Drake Bay, Costa Rica** Join us for an unforgettable journey into the rich tropical waters surrounding the Osa Peninsula, one of the best places in Costa Rica to encounter wild dolphins, whales, and other marine life. Every tour is different because we follow nature and go where the wildlife takes us. Depending on the day and season, we may encounter large or even mega pods of Pantropical Spotted, Bottlenose, Spinner, Common, or Rough-toothed Dolphins, as well as Humpback Whales and occasionally Bryde’s Whales, False Killer Whales, Pilot Whales, and other cetaceans. Sea turtles, manta and devil rays, seabirds, and other pelagic wildlife are also frequently encountered. Our marine biologist guides share their knowledge of the animals, their behavior, and the unique marine ecosystem of Drake Bay. We also carry a hydrophone, giving guests the opportunity to listen to dolphins communicating underwater and, when we are fortunate enough to encounter a singing Humpback Whale, hear the extraordinary songs of the whales. Our approach is respectful and guided by the animals. We never force an interaction; instead, we allow the dolphins and whales to choose how they interact with us. Some of our most magical encounters happen when they approach the boat, ride the bow wave, leap beside us, or simply choose to remain nearby. The tour departs Drake Bay around 8:00 AM and generally returns between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. Snacks, water, and a vegetarian lunch are included. Come experience the wild ocean of Drake Bay with us and discover why no two Divine Dolphin tours are ever the same.
