Sunrise Birdwatching & Nature Experience

Your tour guide:
Woodpecker Educational Tours was founded in 2022 with the mission of transforming simple walks into Meaningful Experiences that connect people with nature in its deepest essence. The reserve forms part of the Three-wattled Bellbird Biological Corridor, a vital habitat for the conservation of remarkable species such as the iconic Three-wattled Bellbird, Collared Trogon, Long-tailed Manakin, Turquoise-browed Motmot, toucans, and woodpeckers. Its biodiversity also protects essential native flora including Lauraceae and Cecropias, as well as unique wildlife such as the Banded Gecko, the endemic Red-eyed Stream Frog (Duellmanohyla rufioculis), and several species of glass frogs including the Cascade Glass Frog and Fleischmann’s Glass Frog... This 33-hectare sanctuary has been protected by a Costa Rican family since 1968. Located between 1350 and 1400 meters above sea level, its transitional forest connects the dry, rainforest, and cloud forest ecosystems, preserving an extraordinary biodiversity that can be explored through guided day and night walks led by ICT-certified professionals, along more than 4 km of scenic trails with breathtaking landscapes. "We are a regenerative project that shares the forest through conservation, environmental education, and birdwatching experiences designed to inspire meaningful and lasting connections with nature.
