Range restricted Birds Tour in La Tigra
Private tourYour tour guide:
Since 2015, I have dedicated myself to exploring the extraordinary birds and wildlife of La Tigra and its surrounding wilderness. I am fortunate to live among some of Costa Rica’s most iconic species, from the vibrant Tody Motmot and Lattice-tailed Trogon to the rare Bare-necked Umbrellabird and the elusive Rufous-vented Ground Cuckoo. It would be a privilege to share my passion and deep local knowledge of this magical region with you.
About this tour
Explore one of San Carlos's prime spots for sighting restricted-range species. A 6-hour morning excursion designed for birders and photographers looking to add to their life list (lifers). Located in a strategic geographical position in San Carlos, La Tigra offers a privileged and highly biodiverse habitat where restricted-range species—difficult to observe in other regions—converge. This tour is carefully designed for dedicated birdwatchers who want to maximize their opportunities for sightings and photography. We start early in the morning to take advantage of the peak vocal and feeding activity in the forest. Over the course of a 6-hour route, we will venture into key spots in the area, exploring forest edges and strategic trails to track down the region's most sought-after species.
